When a group of young women confined to a nunnery resist any initial attempts to curb their sexual impulses, Abbess Flavia Orsini (Gabriella Giacobbe) tries harder to put a stop to their behaviour. However, when the nuns, including Flavia’s niece Clara (Branice) rebel, the church’s response is swift and cruel.
