Alain Delon stars in this French crime thriller written and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. Jef Costello (Delon) is an expert hitman hired to murder a nightclub owner. After he completes the job, Valérie (Cathy Rosier), the club’s piano player, witnesses him leaving but fails to identify him to the police.
However, the police continue to investigate him and his problems only increase when, instead of being paid for the hit, his employers try to kill him. The cast also includes François Périer and Nathalie Delon.
