Story of a Love Affair (Cronaca Di Un Amore) [Blu-ray]

Paola
(Lucia Bose) is a young, beautiful woman married to a very wealthy
industrialist who decides to have his wife’s past investigated. The
private detective’s rummaging reaches Paola’s former lover, Guido, and
prompts him to seek her after seven years, and they reignite their
passion. Now illegitimate, their affair leads to tragic events.

Revered
as the greatest chronicler of (bourgeois) ennui Antonioni’s films –
including his more main-stream English language studio ones Blow Up
with David Hemmings, Redgrave et al, and The Passenger (with Jack
Nicholson) – have influenced among others Sofia Coppola, Wim Wenders,
Michael Henke, Paolo Sorrentino to name a few

CultFilm
presents the WORLD FIRST BLURAY from a 2K restored source supervised by
cinematographer Giuseppe Rotunno (Fellini cinematographer, BAFTA best
cinematography for All That Jazz etc..)

This
painstaking restoration elements show the film for the first time ever
in its original scintillating B&W cinematography, finally doing
justice to Antonioni’s first of many masterpieces.

Extras:

  • Two
hours of bonus materials: multiple docs including the film’s restored
premiere with director Michelangelo Antonioni and star Lucia Bosè
  • Lengthy
analysis of the film by Tullio Kezich.
  • Contributions
from Giuseppe Tornatorre (Cinema Paradiso), Dario Argento (Suspiria),
star Lucia Bosè and producers, cast and crew
