Super Spies and Secret Lies: Three Undercover Classics [Blu-ray / Limited Edition]
Triple bill of Hong Kong espionage action produced by the Shaw Brothers. In ‘The Golden Buddha’ (1966) businessman Paul Cheung (Paul Chang Chung) accidentally switches briefcases with his friend. When he discovers that his friend has been murdered, Cheung finds a small golden Buddha inside the briefcase along with a partial set of instructions to the location of a hidden treasure.
He teams up with his friend’s sister Chan Mei-nan (Jeanette Lin Tsui) to find the other two Buddhas and then the treasure, but they are being pursued by members of the ruthless Skeleton Gang who are determined to find it first. ‘Angel With the Iron Fists’ (1967) follows a mysterious woman known as Agent 009 (Lily Ho) as she attempts to infiltrate a dangerous criminal organisation. She wins the trust of the Chief (Tina Chin-Fei) and becomes a key part of their latest scheme but if her true motives for getting close to the Chief are discovered, she will be in terrible danger.
Finally, ‘The Singing Thief’ (1969) follows reformed jewel thief Diamond Poon (Jimmy Lin Chong) who has left a life of crime behind to become a singer. However, when a series of thefts similar to his past crimes are committed, he becomes the prime suspect and must fight to clear his name.
