In comparison to UK bands being influenced by American counterparts, with The Killers it seems they have been influenced by British acts such as Oasis, The Jam, Talking Heads, The Smiths and David Bowie. Hailing from one of the USA’s most quintessentially American cities, Las Vegas, they bring an American quirk to these influences. The album was a hit in the charts with keyboard led indie/pop/rock songs like “On Top”, “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr Brightside”.
