Double bill of horror classics produced by Val Lewton. In ‘I Walked With a Zombie’ (1943) nurse Betsy Connell (Frances Dee) accepts a job caring for Jessica (Christine Gordon), the sick wife of Paul Holland (Tom Conway), who owns a plantation in the Caribbean. After her arrival, she learns more about the terrible history of the island and about Jessica’s mysterious illness but when people begin to claim that Jessica is a zombie, Betsy wonders if the woman’s affliction may indeed have unnatural causes.
In ‘The Seventh Victim’ (1943) Mary Gibson (Kim Hunter) travels to New York to search for her missing sister Jacqueline (Jean Brooks). As she investigates, she discovers that Jacqueline is being tormented by members of a cult of devil worshippers who have already caused the deaths of six people who supposedly betrayed them. Can Mary save her sister before she becomes their seventh victim?
